Expeditions

Length: 3-10 days (standard trip - 4 days)
Season: All year
Length of drive from Cape Town: +/- 8 hours
Length of drive from JHB: +/- 10 hours
Starting near Pofadder in the Northern Cape, this section of the river offers a variety of conditions, from flat water to flowing channels, lots of exciting small rapids and a few ‘Big Ones’ to get the adrenaline flowing. At high water it becomes an exciting whitewater trip. The 4-day trip also includes abseiling for those keen to give it a try. We use inflatable two person boats that are easy to paddle and steer. We also have rafts that are very stable and perfect for less confident paddlers. We cover just over 30kms during the trip so there is ample time to relax, read your book or explore the camp surroundings.
This trip starts from our base camp, on the banks of the Orange River. You can unwind after the long drive from Cape Town on the grassy banks of the river or enjoy a swim before your guides prepare supper.
We have been awarded the sole rights to operate commercial sea kayaking trips in the beautiful West Coast National Park. With the jewel-like Langebaan Lagoon as its centerpiece, this park offers adventurers something different. Stunning bird life, magnificent scenery, excellent local seafood and exciting fishing are just some of the elements that make the ‘weskus’ so special.
The Palmiet River tumbles through the Fynbos covered mountains of the Kogelberg Nature Reserve, just outside Kleinmond, about an hour's drive from Cape Town. This pristine natural environment forms the backdrop to our Palmiet River Experience. A friendly stream during the summer months, winter rainfall turns the river into an exciting white water adventure.
We operate on the Breede River, near Worcester, just over an hour’s drive from Cape Town. The Breede River Valley is the largest wine producing area in the country and the river winds its way through the vineyards making for a relaxing day out in the country. The river here consists of stretches of flat water and flowing channels through the reed islands. There are no demanding rapids, which makes it the perfect trip for all ages and skill levels. We use inflatable 2 person ‘crocs’ for this trip - they are stable and easy to paddle and make the perfect tanning and swimming platform. We start the day with a light brunch on the riverbanks followed by a safety briefing and then it’s time to get on the water. Lunch is a delicious picnic spread served on the banks and the day ends in the late afternoon with a tasting of local wines.
We offer abseiling as add-ons to many of our standard packages and can be done as a full day activity when linked with climbing
